Magnetek Announces Distribution Agreement With Russian Distributor.

Magnetek, Inc. , a global leader in advanced electronic power solutions, today announced that it has entered into a contract with ProSoft Ltd., a leading Russian distribution company providing equipment, component parts and software for industrial automation and embedded systems, to represent Magnetek's Power Electronics Group throughout Russia, CIS and Baltic countries. Founded in 1991, ProSoft has 200 employees and is headquartered in Moscow, with primary sales offices in Saint Petersburg and Yekaterinburg and 26 affiliated dealers operating in Russia, Armenia, Azerbaidjan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgizstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

"Historically, Magnetek has developed advanced electronic power supplies that are custom-built for specific manufacturers of electronic equipment (OEMs)," said Antonio Canova, executive vice president of the Company's Power Electronics Group, headquartered in Valdarno, Italy. "However, we have now developed a line of digital electronic power supplies and subsystems that conform to international industry standards and therefore can be sold through distributors to a wide variety of OEMs. Russia and her neighbors represent a major new market sphere for Magnetek, and ProSoft is an important doorway to that market for us."

With two power-electronics manufacturing facilities in Hungary, one in Pomaz and another in Salgotarjan near Budapest, Magnetek is well positioned to serve the Russian market. Magnetek power-electronic product lines initially available through ProSoft include, among others, high-power-density DC-to-AC power inverters for industrial and telecommunications applications, a wide range of AC-to-DC power rectifiers, and high-efficiency board-mountable DC-to- DC power converters.

With corporate headquarters in Los Angeles, Magnetek, Inc. manufactures digital electronic power supplies and systems used in applications requiring highly reliable, precise, energy-efficient power. The Company operates manufacturing and research facilities in North America, Europe and Asia, employs approximately 1,500 people and reported revenue of $188 million for fiscal 2002, ended on June 30, 2002.
